Lawrence Watkins is a young entrepreneur and owner of Great Black Speakers Bureau, an organization dedicated to helping universities and corporations find speakers for the events that they host throughout the year. Founded in January 2007, Great Black Speakers has quickly risen and has become a premier force in the speaking industry, boasting over 200 African-American speakers and over 100 university/corporate clients.
Lawrence Watkins received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville. He is currently continuing his education as the Rodney P. Hunt Fellow at the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.
So the start of GBS, we started with $4,000 that Boyce earned from one of the speaking engagements that he did. We took that $4,000 and invested it in the infrastructure that we needed, so we build a website. The first website was actually terrible looking.
