Eduardo Soares is the CEO of Biominas Foundation in Brazil and has over 15 years of work experience in the biotechnology sector. He is a board member of several biotechnology companies and has an active role in several initiatives to strengthen the Brazilian biotechnology sector, such as the Biotech Competitiveness Forum of the Ministry of Development (MDIC) and the Brazilian Association of Biotechnology Companies (ABRABI).
Eduardo Soares holds a BS in Biology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil and did his graduate studies in finance (Dom Cabral Foundation, FDC) and in business administration at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), São Paulo, Brazil.
The idea of establishing Biominas was born in 1988, but back in that time it was kind of a state program, a state government program.
