Carol Young is founder and designer of [un]designed by Carol Young. [un]designed is a collection of beautiful, functional, seasonless clothing for the modern woman. A former architecture student, Carol became intrigued with the needs of urban nomads while living abroad in Asia, studying design in NYC and travelling to India and Japan.
Young accepted a fellowship at Cornell University to experiment in these functional apparel needs. The result was a collection that explored the use of "undesigned" recycled-clothing and activewear materials into new urban nomadic apparel. [un]designed was born.
Carol Young received a Master's degree from Cornell University.
Q: How did your background in architecture affect your design process or designs? CY: Let's see ... I'm probably slower. I deliberate over details. I think it effects my design in that as with architecture ...
