Sharee Umpierre is an Associate Professor at the University of Puerto Rico's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has served as Director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology of the University of Puerto Rico's School of Medicine since 1993. Sharee Umpierre received her BA in Chemistry from Cornell University and her MD from Harvard.
I was very lucky. I was offered a position as a faculty position there, starting on a tenure track there. But I unfortunately fell in love with someone that I met while I was there who was also from Puerto Rico. And he was intent on bringing me back home.
