Carol Young is founder and designer of [un]designed by Carol Young. [un]designed is a collection of beautiful, functional, seasonless clothing for the modern woman. A former architecture student, Carol became intrigued with the needs of urban nomads while living abroad in Asia, studying design in NYC and travelling to India and Japan.
Young accepted a fellowship at Cornell University to experiment in these functional apparel needs. The result was a collection that explored the use of "undesigned" recycled-clothing and activewear materials into new urban nomadic apparel. [un]designed was born.
Carol Young received a Master's degree from Cornell University.
Michael and Karma Glos began their small, diversified organic farm in Berkshire, New York, located 20 miles east of Ithaca, in 1996. Since then, three of those years have included commercial operations.
They specialize in producing free-range organic meat (poultry, pork, beef) and organic herbs and specialty vegetables, and are certified by NOFA-NY Certified Organic LLC. All the vegetables, herbs and poultry are certified; the pork and beef are raised according to organic standards after 6 weeks of age.
The Glos' launched their business with no formal training, but relied on a love of farming and their experiences as farming apprentices.
Timothy Chi is the CEO and founder of WeddingWire. He founded the copmpany after planning his wedding. As a groom, he experienced first hand how difficult it was to execute on the wedding plans. As a technologist, he couldn\'t find an online resource that would help him plan more efficiently. Together with his cofounders, Jeff, Lee, and Sonny, they threw 4 desks into his empty living room in Chevy Chase, Maryland and WeddingWire was born. They set out to utilize their collective experience in technology to build a technology company that would revolutionize the wedding and event industry. Today, WeddingWire is the world\'s largest vertical marketplace serving the wedding industry, connecting millions of engaged couples to wedding professionals. WeddingWire has over 750 employees and currently operates leading wedding planning properties in 14 countries. Previously, Timothy co-founded Blackboard Inc. in 1998. While at Blackboard, Timothy pioneered many of Blackboard\'s product and strategic initiatives, helping the company grow to over 600 employees and a valuation of over $750 Million. Timothy holds a B.S. degree in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering from Cornell University and a Master\'s of Science degree in Engineering Management from Tufts University.
Jeremy Levine is a partner in Bessemer’s New York office. He joined the firm in 2001 and focuses primarily on software and Internet companies. He has led early stage investments in consumer-Internet companies including LinkedIn, Pinterest, Raise, Wikia and Yelp; e-commerce businesses including KupiVIP and Shopify; and SaaS companies including MindBody and Parallels. Several of his portfolio companies have gone public in the last few years, and he has also served on the boards of several Bessemer-backed companies before they were acquired by larger corporations such as Amazon, AOL, Cox, Sony and Naspers. Jeremy graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in computer science and economics.
Lisa Ann Pinkerton is Founder and President of Technica Communications, co-founder of the Global Cleantech Cluster Association, founder and Chairwoman of Women In Cleantech & Sustainability, a Board Advisor for International Sustainable Fashion Week, an international speaker, trainer and moderator, as well as a documentary filmmaker. Lisa Ann started her career as an award-winning environmental science broadcast journalist who reported for National Public Radio, PBS Television, NBC, American Public Media and other outlets. Lisa Ann Pinkerton is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University
