Scott Kirsner is a journalist who writes about innovation, innovators, and their impact on the world. His work appears regularly in Variety and the Boston Globe, and he has also been published in Wired, Fast Company, Newsweek, The New York Times, The LA Times, BusinessWeek, and the Hollywood Reporter. He edits two blogs: Innovation Economy, which focuses on the entrepreneurial scene in New England, and CinemaTech, which covers emerging technologies and trends in the movies.
Scott has helped to start three conferences dedicated to supporting start-ups and entrepreneurship, the oldest of which is held on Nantucket every May. Scott is the author of several books, including "The Future of Web Video" and "Inventing the Movies," which he'll talk about today. The book tour to support "Inventing the Movies" has taken him to Google, Netflix, the Sundance Film Festival, Disney, MIT, and Industrial Light & Magic, George Lucas' special effects firm.

Ulla Kjarval is a New York City-based photographer and food blogger who advocates for family farms and grass-fed beef. With B.A.'s in History and Political Science from SUNY Albany, Ulla has worked in politics at both the state and federal levels. Along with her sister, she founded Sheepdog Print & Design, LLC, a company specializing in web design and social media strategy that caters specifically to rural interests. As the respected blogger behind 'Goldilocks finds Manhattan', Ulla has also contributed to blogs such as 'Goodlifer' and 'Civil Eats'. Ulla was the official policy and recipe advisor for the Grass-fed party. Her childhood on a farm in upstate New York sparked her life-long interest in family farms and the sustainability of a rural lifestyle. Ulla believes that social media holds many opportunities for farmers to promote their product and engage with the current food movement.

Alan Kligerman is the founder of AkPharma Inc. which makes and markets specialty products centered around food acid neutralization, including Prelief.
In 1974, Alan Kligerman started the business that was to become Lactaid Inc., now the world's leading company in the field of lactose-reduced milk and dairy products. He invented a calcium-fortified milk that is still the largest seller in the U.S. Lactaid Inc. was purchased by Johnson & Johnson in 1991. Mr. Kligerman then developed Beano®, an enzyme-based product for better digestion of numerous vegetables. This company is also the largest in its field and was sold to Block Drug Company in 1997.
Prior to founding Lactaid, Kligerman worked in the family business, Kligerman Dairies, both as a boy on the routes and later as an adult. The dairy was started in 1918 and operated until about 1964. He left the dairy in 1957 to start his own ice cream routes which evolved over some years into a specialty business, SugarLo Company, which made and sold dietary ice cream in most of the U.S. and Canada.

Pauline Kneale is a Professor of Hydrology at the University of Leeds in the UK. Her major research interests lie in defining the inter-relationships between soil water processes and the physical, chemical and biological properties of the regolith. Peat hydrology and hillslope hydrology are fields of particular expertise. Kneale has also developed a strong interest in curriculum development and in teaching transferable skills to undergraduate geographers. Pauline Kneale received her Bachelors in Science from University College in London and her PhD from Bristol University.
Peter Knight, Partner at Generation Investment Management, has held senior positions on four presidential campaigns, including serving as the Campaign Manager for the 1996 re-election of President Clinton. In addition, Knight currently serves as a director on a number of public and private company boards and he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Park Foundation. Matthew Kochman is a co-founder of M.E.S.S.(Moving Every Student Safely)Express. MESS Express is a for-profit social advocacy group that combats drinking and driving among college students nationwide. It is accomplished by implementing prepaid transportation programs tailored to the individual needs of students on college campuses.
